Portable health monitoring · Made in India
Your health
in your pocket
VitalEdge is a power-bank sized device that puts five health checks in one hand: ECG, pulse, SpO2, body temperature and a digital stethoscope. Built in India for clinics, homes and rural care.
VitalEdge is an early stage prototype, not a certified medical device, and not for diagnosis.
02 · The problem
Five checks. Five devices. Five separate bills.
A basic vitals check needs an ECG machine, an oximeter, a thermometer, a stethoscope and a pulse monitor. Each one costs money, needs its own handling, and keeps its reading to itself.
How a check-up works today
For small clinics
More devices to buy, maintain and calibrate. Each reading is noted by hand, so records end up fragmented.
- Cost
- Clutter
- Fragmented data
For rural and underserved areas
Fewer clinics, fewer instruments, long trips. Warning signs get missed because monitoring is delayed and expensive.
- Access
- Delay
- Affordability
03 · The product
Five sensors in one handheld device
Tap a numbered point on the device to see what each sensor measures and why it is there.
From sensor to doctor: how the data moves
- ECG
- Pulse
- SpO2
- Temp
- Heart and lung sound
Reads all five, shows instant readings on its small screen.
Processes the signals and flags readings outside normal ranges.
One combined summary of all five readings.
Reviews the report and makes the call.
MEDIESTA is designed to support a doctor's analysis, not replace it. The report is a starting point for a clinician, not a diagnosis.
04 · Why it is different
More checks, lower target price
VitalEdge sits in a gap: cheaper than buying single-purpose devices one by one, and more clinical than consumer fitness wearables. All VitalEdge prices are targets, not launched prices.

| Functions | Doctor link | Built for | |
|---|---|---|---|
| VitalEdge | 5 in 1 | Report shared with a doctor | Clinics, homes, rural care |
| Single-function | One each | Manual notes | Mostly professionals |
| Premium wearable | Fitness focused | Limited | Consumers |
05 · Testing and validation
Tested on real people, problems included
We wired the sensors on a development board, put electrodes on real forearms and watched the trace come through. Then we took it to more than 150 people.

people took part in pilot-style testing of the prototype, with input from healthcare professionals along the way.
- Do the five sensors give usable readings on real users?
- Is one handheld device practical to use?
- What breaks outside a controlled room?
What this is not: pilot testing is not a clinical trial. Formal validation and certification are still ahead on the roadmap.
Thermal drift
Temperature readings slowly drifted away from the true value over a session.
What it means nextBetter calibration and keeping heat from other parts away from the sensor.
Battery life
Keeping five sensors and a screen running on a small battery, reliably over time, needed more work.
What it means nextPower management in firmware, and sizing the battery against the power-bank form factor.
Environmental adaptability
Readings that were clean in a controlled room got noisier with changing surroundings and conditions.
What it means nextSignal filtering and isolating the sensors from each other's interference.
06 · Recognition
Judges, then investors, took it seriously
VitalEdge entered Disrupt, the startup programme run by the E-Cell at IIT Guwahati, and kept moving up. Personal names and dates are blurred in the screenshots below.

07 · Building the brand
Letting people choose the design
Before fixing the final shell, we put the design options on Instagram and asked people to vote. It built an audience and gave real input at the same time.
Follow along for updates, demos and design votes.
How the design vote worked
- Post the device design options
- People comment on their favourite
- A short feedback form in the bio
- Team reads responses and comments
